All Big Bang Challenges

Every Big Bang Challenge focuses on a particular theme and asks young people questions, to inspire and encourage them to get creative. There are 8 to choose from, including:

  • Built for all, healthy and green

  • Can robots and AI help humankind

  • Can we make our air fresh again

  • Eat your way to a healthier planer

  • Engineering for the extreme

  • Game, set, match

  • On track to net zero

  • Technology making a greener world

Support students through 3 sessions to build a STEM project, step-by-step:

Session 1
Students decide on a problem to solve, and develop critical analysis and investigative thinking skills.
The outcome for this session is to create a problem statement.

Session 2
Students think of potential solutions to their problem, create a prototype and think of ways they would test this against their problem statement.

Session 3
Students reflect on their project, what they learnt and anything they would do differently next time.

In your challenge pack, you will find a game-board for young people to track progress through the challenge, plus certificates which can be handed out to celebrate the STEM skills they learn along the way.
