Overview

Coolest Projects is a free, worldwide showcase celebrating young digital creators and the things they make with technology.

Use the showcase to give students a goal for their coding and digital projects. Encourage them to develop an idea, solve problems, test their creation and communicate what they have made. Students can develop almost any digital project using code, computers or digital technology. They can create something new or build on a project they have already made and feel proud of. Works in progress are welcome.

Projects can fit into 7 categories: Scratch, games, web, mobile apps, hardware, advanced programming and AI (artificial intelligence).

There are several ways to get involved:

  • enter the worldwide Online Showcase, livestreamed on 23 June 2027 (open to all)

  • take part in Coolest Projects Ireland at the Explorium in Dublin on 24 April 2027 (open to young people in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland)

  • take part in Coolest Projects UK Bradford at The Life Centre on 15 May 2027 (open to young people from across the UK)

  • take part in Coolest Projects UK Cardiff on 22 May 2027 (open to young people from across the UK)

It's free to take part, and entries open on 13 January 2027. Projects can be entered individually or in teams of up to 5. An adult mentor needs to register the project for students under 13. Young people over 13 can register their own project, or an adult mentor can register it for them.
