Meet the future you is a free online careers quiz for students, revealing possible career paths connected with inspirational characters based on real-life engineers.
The quiz was developed with the Department of Engineering at UCL as part of a public engagement project. Showcasing engineers from a diverse range of backgrounds was central to the project, and the characters represented are based on real-life engineers from UCL’s engineering faculty.
Meet the future you showcases the variety of inspiring engineering careers on offer, such as wind turbine technician to cancer researcher. It also and gives students the opportunity to identify with a real-life engineer or roles they can relate to. Highlighting a diverse range of engineers from different backgrounds to students is also very important.
Meet the future you is supported by ICE (the Institution of Civil Engineers), the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology), IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the IoP (Institute of Physics) and the Royal Academy of Engineering.
