1. Explore real jobs in STEM
Help young people discover the variety of careers available in STEM. Explore real job profiles together and discuss what the role involves, the skills required and the different routes into the career.
Try this: Ask them to choose a role that interests them and identify three skills, subjects or experiences that could help them pursue it in the future.
2. Discover STEM career pathways
There’s no single route into STEM. Use our STEM careers pathways poster to explore options together and discuss which routes might best suit a young person’s interests, strengths and aspirations.
Try this: Compare 2 different pathways and talk about the benefits of each.
3. Join Tomorrow’s Engineers Week

Meet the Future You helps young people explore career areas linked to their interests and preferences. It's a great starting point for conversations about future opportunities and the skills they may want to develop.
