Overview
Chemistry Club is a free online platform that sparks and nurtures an interest in chemistry through independent learning.
Learners explore chemistry in our everyday lives and see that being a chemist isn’t all about wearing a white coat in a lab. Interactive activities aimed at ages 11 to 14 are centred around a monthly theme. Recent themes have included sport, electronics, medicine and space!
Every weekday a new activity is shared including videos, infographics, guess the element, word searches and quizzes.
Once students are signed up to the platform, they can complete activities at their own pace and move between monthly themes to find topics that interest them most.
This activity could be used in the classroom to help link curriculum topics to real world applications and careers, as an extension activity, or as part of an extracurricular science club.
