Overview

Code4Drones Enrichment Days support the KS2 Computing Curriculum and promote STEM to school students through the use of programmable drones in a creative, stimulating, and interactive way.

Enrichment Day sessions provide students with practical experience in designing, writing, applying, and debugging codes, and enhancing their computer science and digital literacy skills.

Students will first be taught the science and basic principles of flight that enable a drone to take off from the ground and fly. Fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including computational thinking, mathematical logic, and algorithms will then be explained and demonstrated. By understanding these fundamentals, students will then learn a number of functions which they will use to complete several tasks in groups of 3. The goal of each task will be to take off and land their drone from the same spot after programming it to perform multiple manoeuvres.

Cost

£695 for a full day. This includes 3 repeated 90 minute sessions each catering for up to 30 students (depending on venue space). Code4Drones will deliver workshops throughout England, but mileage will be charged for schools located more than 1 hour travel from Loughborough.
