Inspiring the engineers of tomorrow
Tomorrow’s Engineers Week is an annual national awareness week that inspires students to discover the exciting and impactful world of engineering and technology careers. This year it takes place from 9 to 13 November.
Each year, thousands of students across the UK take part in the week-long celebration. Schools are invited to use our free resources to run engineering themed lessons and assemblies, and engage with real engineers. Engineering and technology employers, Professional Engineering Institutions as well as individual engineers and technicians all get involved. They celebrate the Week, and share career stories to get the next generation thinking about engineering and tech roles.
Now in its 14th year, the Week is an opportunity to link classroom STEM with real careers, sparking students’ interest and curiosity in their future.
Each year, the Week is built around a theme that connects engineering to issues that matter to young people. For 2026 our theme is Shape our future. From the environment and sustainability to digital technologies and health, the Week will explore the challenges engineers and technicians need to solve over the next 25 years.
We're inviting students aged 11 to 14 to directly engage with these challenges and hear how the professionals tackle these topics. Got students older or younger? No problem! You can still download our resources and adapt them for your students.
Tomorrow's Engineers Week challenges stereotypes – highlighting the variety of people working in the industry, and demonstrating that engineering is a career for everyone. It also raises aspirations by signposting students to the varied career pathways – whatever their learning styles.
