Why take part
Tomorrow’s Engineers Week is now in its 14th year and has become a staple in many schools’ calendars.
Last year we inspired your students' creativity with our Dare to discover theme. Building on 2024’s success, which reached more than 55,000 students across the UK, 2025 aimed to engage even more young people aged 11 to 14. From experiments that don’t go as planned to career paths that take unexpected turns, Tomorrow's Engineers Week demonstrated how trial and error is at the heart of engineering and technology.
A record 61,286 young people celebrated #TEWeek25 by engaging with our material for schools, including an assembly, lesson plans, videos and activities.
Throughout the week we launched lots of exciting new content, including:
- 16 blogs showcasing different engineering industries
- 11 stories from people working in engineering and tech, talking about how they've dared to discover
- 8 panellists answering questions from schools and young people
Throughout the week, people from hundreds of companies and organisations inspired students with stories about their own career paths or experiments.
We produced an engaging set of classroom resources designed to encourage students to become robust problem solvers who are unafraid of trying things out. There were video case studies from engineers and technicians whose careers didn't take a usual path and a look at the surprising stories behind some everyday inventions.
Student questions were also put to a panel of industry experts.
These resources are still available to download and use now.
I believe students will find these resources particularly engaging. They invite students to focus on themselves and think about their own passions and interests, sparking thoughts about potential career paths that align with their unique passions.
