Gerren Ntiri

MSc Motorsport Engineering student,
Oxford Brookes University

Gerren Ntiri is a motorsport engineer with experience in roles such as mechanic and data engineer, as she pursues her ambition to work in a high-performance racing team. Gerren is passionate about improving diversity and inclusion within motorsport. This has led her to volunteer and share her story through talks and podcasts, to inspire those from underrepresented backgrounds to consider careers in motorsport.

Harry Hancock

Systems Engineer,
Thales UK

Harry Hancock is a Systems Engineer working at Thales UK. He graduated with BEng Aerospace Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2022 and has a background in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and full stack software development, autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems, Satellite Communications (Satcom), avionic systems and Internet of Things (IoT) for environmental monitoring. As an entry-level Systems Engineer he first worked on Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) activities on an aircraft Satcom project and now works in research and development to design scalable, real-time data analysis and event streaming software.

Isobel Emery

Consents & Skills Strategy Manager,
RWE Renewables UK

After graduating from the University of Kent with a degree in Environmental Social Science, Isobel began her career in the renewables industry at RWE, where she works as a Consents Manager and contribute to the Skills Strategy Team for offshore wind.

Her connection with RWE began during her Year in Industry Placement, which sparked her passion for making a real difference in the world of clean energy.

In her role, she helps shape how offshore wind projects are designed and constructed, collaborating closely with engineers to ensure environmental management is at the heart of everything RWE Renewables do. One of the most rewarding parts of her job is engaging with students and young people—sharing the exciting opportunities the renewables sector has to offer and encouraging the next generation of climate champions!

Marisa Kurimbokus

Head of Engineering,
Raeon
IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year 2024

Marisa Kurimbokus is the Head of Engineering at Raeon, responsible for all the design and development activities of custom batteries to support the electrification of a wide range of low to mid volume applications, such as drones, motorbikes, submarines and much more. She is a Chartered Engineer with a career spanning over a decade in product design and systems engineering within the automotive and power electronics industries, including Jaguar Land Rover and Triumph Motorcycles. In her work, she has led a multi-disciplinary engineering design team and has been responsible for all engineering activities, including the delivery of projects, R&D, design, testing, and prototyping.

Marisa keenly supports engineers at all levels, and STEM is a huge passion for her, fuelled by her lack of guidance and inspirational role models when she was a student.
She has been listed in the Top 50 Women in Engineering: Inventors and Innovators in 2022 for her work in net-zero and green technology.

Marisa was The IET's Young Woman Engineer of the Year Award winner for 2024.

Tomas Neachell

Business Manager, 
Green Folk

Tomas is an Assoc CIPD and MREC qualified HR professional with experience on both sides of the recruitment process. He leads the specialist search practice at Green Folk, partnering with SMEs and international engineering and manufacturing groups. Earlier in his career, he worked in the HR and Talent function of a global manufacturing group, where he developed apprenticeship programmes and entry routes into technical disciplines. This blend of internal HR and external recruitment gives him a unique perspective on how early talent can access opportunities in engineering and what employers truly value in these competitive, career-launching roles.

He recently spoke for the CIPD as part of their Finding Work That Works for You series, sharing advice on career development and how to navigate opportunities within engineering and manufacturing.
