STEMdrones - Drone Coding Workshop
Take STEM learning to new heights with this hands-on drone coding workshop.

Overview
Take STEM learning to new heights with this hands-on drone coding workshop for pupils in years 5 to 6 (P6–P7).
Pupils use block programming to code flight patterns, developing real-world computing skills while piloting drones through custom challenges. They create algorithms to make drones take off, land, perform flips and rolls, and navigate different altitudes and distances. Pupils can guide their drone safely around a course or programme it to perform a coordinated routine.
Along the way, they explore KS2 computing concepts including sequencing, selection, repetition and debugging.
Sessions are adapted for all learners, including those with SEN. Facilitators tailor activities to group needs, ensuring every pupil is supported and engaged.
Workshop formats available:
Taster (4x60min): Up to 120 students/day (groups of 3)
Standard (3×75–90min): Up to 90 students/day
Advanced (2×2hr): Up to 60 students/day with deeper coding challenges

Testimonials

A huge thank you to Pete for delivering such fantastic drone workshops. All classes really enjoyed the sessions, the best part was seeing the smiling faces when the students were successful. I think the whole experience helped to boost student confidence and self esteem. The staff also loved the sessions, they were a bit envious of the students to be honest and would loved to have had a go! The way Pete delivered the sessions was just right for our students, he slightly adapted each session to match the needs of the group.
