Overview
Life-changing impact for young people, delivered by STEM professionals in classrooms and communities.
STEM subjects are brought to life by over 30,000 volunteers available across the UK, all free of charge. As inspiring communicators and relatable role models, they are here to help now by connecting online. Aspirations are raised, careers illuminated, and learning supported via a vast variety of activities including:
- Support for practical classroom activities around a particular topic, ranging from lighting and shadow to looking after our teeth!
- Live online webinars, bringing STEM Ambassadors directly into classrooms, and allowing students to learn about their chosen topic and ask questions. Past webinars have covered a range of subjects, from insects, geology and measurements, to career insights into fields such as civil engineering, nuclear, and working at Google.
- Intro/outro Q&A sessions, where an Ambassador can spend 15 minutes answering students' questions about their job and how they use various aspects of the curriculum
- Support for after school STEM clubs, such as Code Club, where young people have an opportunity to grow a passion for computing
And many more! STEM Ambassadors can be flexible by adapting their activity and the way in which it is delivered to suit the needs of you and your students.
