Meet an Engineer: Live Engineer Interview Series

An opportunity to meet inspiring engineers through Primary Engineer's annual live engineer interview series.

Overview

A large part of Primary Engineer's UK-wide STEM competition ‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?’ is enabling pupils to meet and interview engineering and technology professionals from a wide range of background and industries.

Their live engineer interview series is one of the ways we facilitate this engagement. These interviews provide an opportunity for engineers to share how they use creative problem solving in their work and inspire the pupils to find their own engineering ideas. The Q&A is pupil-led allowing your learners to ask questions that matter to them and learn more about many creative pathways into Engineering careers.

Last year, they conducted 18 live interviews with over 45,000 pupils joining live from across the UK. The 2024-25 live interview series featured a NASA Scientist, a Top 50 Women in Engineering Award Winner 2024, the world’s greatest Watchmaker, one of the UK’s only female Railfreight Drivers and many more.

This year the series includes astronauts, Lego designers, an interview live from Big Ben and much more. See the schedule on the provider's website, there's a packed programme especially around British Science Week!
