Intermediate STEMbotics - Block Coding Robotics Workshop
A hands-on robotics workshop where Y7-Y9 students design, build, and code LEGO robots to solve real-world challenges.

Overview
Bring STEM to life with this hands-on robotics workshop from Hyett Education. Students design, build and code LEGO robots to solve real-world challenges.
Suitable for years 7 to 9 and equivalent across England, Scotland and Wales, the workshop links computing, design technology and science.
Working in teams, students use motors, sensors and bespoke challenge mats to tackle engineering problems.
Using a Scratch-like interface, students develop computing skills including sequencing, selection and iteration. If time allows, they can also explore functions and variables.
The workshop aligns with the computing curriculum and is inclusive for all learners, including those with SEN. Experienced instructors encourage teamwork, resilience and problem-solving.
Workshops can be customised to support your school’s learning objectives and tailored to fit the school day. All equipment is provided.
Space requirements: A hall is recommended for 4 to 6 challenge mats, each measuring 4m × 2m. Classroom versions are available, with a more limited range of activities.
Workshop formats available:
Taster (4×1hr): Up to 240 students/day (working in threes)
Standard (3×90min): Up to 180 students/day
In-Depth (2×2hr): Up to 120 students/day
All-Day (1×4hr): Up to 40 students/day (pairs only)
