IChemE Sprint: Process Engineering in the Energy Sector
Join IChemE as a Process Design Engineer, getting to grips with energy engineering.

Overview
Set by an engineer, the sprint is an online real-world task students can complete at any time, giving them a taste of what a future in Process Design Engineering could look like.
Students will be guided through this mini-project by a real engineer working in the energy sector and will be able to compare their work with model answers to refine their abilities even further.
Skills students will practise:
- Problem-solving
- Mathematical skills
- Applying their existing knowledge in a new setting
- Interpretation of an engineer’s process flow diagram​
Logistics
Hosted by experience provider Springpod, the sprint takes around 30 to 90 minutes to complete. Students will be able to download a certificate of completion and their task workbook afterwards.
The sprint is available alongside a longer virtual work experience programme by IChemE also listed on Neon called Engineering a Sustainable World.
