In Scotland, students can take:
- National 3, 4 and 5
- National Progression Awards
- National Certificates
- Skills for Work
For levels 6 and 7, students can choose:
- Highers
- Advanced Highers
- National Progression Awards
- foundation apprenticeships
Students who are over 16 years old can consider:
- Modern Apprenticeship SQV 3
- Scottish Vocational Qualifications in engineering and technology sectors
- Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Higher National Diplomas in engineering and technology-based subjects
In higher education, university degree courses offer general engineering courses, as well as courses covering specific fields like computer science, manufacturing or technology.
