Video transcript:
"My name’s Satina Bunting. I’m currently doing a Level 6 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship at Arup, a global engineering consultancy firm. So my main responsibilities include database management during production and engineering analysis. So I'm really lucky to have had the opportunity to work on a project based in India and a project based in Uganda, and lots of national, major infrastructure projects.
"It's currently 7:30 and I'm waiting at the train station. The train is usually the way that I get into work. It only takes about 15 minutes and then a short walk into the office, which is really good for me. It's 8:00 and I’ve now arrived in the office. As you can see, it's very quiet at the moment.
"We're just in the Hive, which is our canteen area in the Birmingham office, we’re just preparing the Early Careers breakfast.
"This is a CAD project that I'm doing. Doing assessment contours to map out the settlement in the area of the site. My responsibility includes doing a bit of background report writing, as well as helping to collate the final product before it's sent out to the client.
"I'm currently in our games room. It's really cool because I know there's a lot of lunchtime clubs that happen here and there's a really good variety of games.
"I'm currently in three Warwick University labs doing a stress practical, which you can see there and really enjoying myself. It's so lovely to be able to walk around campus and meet and hang out with the other apprentices.
"Currently wrapping up a apprentice event that we had in preparation with Outer Circle, who are an apprentice organisation. So Arup were hosting, and we've had a really good session.
"And it's been a great day. I never really know what I'm going to be doing, which is good because it means I'm continuously learning, and I think that's the most important thing. As an apprentice and as anyone in the company, you always want to be learning. You always want to be increasing your skill set. So that variety of work enables me to do that."
