Video transcript:
"Hi, I'm Laura, and I'm an operations engineer at an offshore wind farm in Brighton called Rampion. I started out at a graduate placement here in summer 2022, and I've been here ever since.
"When I'm at the office, I usually start the day by creating a report of the alarms that we've had in the last 24 hours and the warning data over the last three months. And, and we discuss all of this at a daily 10 a.m. meeting. If I'm going offshore, I'll check that I've got all my personal protective equipment. So my hardhat, safety boots, climbing harness, life jacket, things like that, as well as having all the right tools for the job and a radio so that I can communicate with the vessel and the marine coordinator.
"I'm responsible for the risk, strategy and condition of the gearboxes and main bearings across the site. A crew transfer vessel that is back to site at the end of the day. I joined RWE Renewables on a year and a half graduate programme. And this let me try out different departments and different areas of the business until I find the right fit for me in operations.
"And I think that if you're quite open to, you know, new possibilities or you're not quite sure what you'd like to do, a graduate programme is a great option because it's like trying different ice cream flavours before picking your favourite one."
