My name is Jemima Armstrong. I'm an engineering apprentice at GSK and my mission is to help find medical cures. I first thought that I would like to do engineering at secondary school. I really enjoyed maths and design technology, and then I to sixth form and carried saw a GSK stand at one of the open days which made me think I should apply for an apprenticeship here and here I am.

I didn't exactly know what I was doing when I first started but it's great, an engineering environment is one where you're always involved with a team of people who really support you in what your doing and you're learning every day.

You get to work in a variety of different places that contribute to your job role. I've got to work with the project teams, design teams, calibration and all the areas on site that manufacturing processes go on. It's also really good at Glaxo because you get to be involved in extra curricular things like the Brathay Apprentice Challenge. I think there's a lot of opportunities that you can gain from engineering. You can go into lots of different roles. There's so many different aspects to it. You get to work with lots of different people, it's quite a stable job, every day's a challenge really.
