Debating climate action

This is English lesson 1B of the Climate Schools Programme. In these lessons the subject of climate change is a lens to explore communication, persuasive language and debate. Young people will engage with a lot of information on climate change. This lesson supports you to help them to understand the topic, analyse it and reach conclusions. These lessons do not require a scientific understanding of climate change and focus on English language techniques.

The lesson is designed to:

  • Promote research and argument building skills
  • Develop debating skills
  • Be careers focused
