Climate change resource gets seal of approval

We are delighted to share that the EUK Education resource Tackling Climate Change has received the ASE Evaluated certification. Previously known at ASE Green Tick, the accreditation is a mark of certification that indicates science education resources that have been reviewed and evaluated by Association of Science Education.

The mark ensures that the content within the Tackling Climate Change resource meets requirements including:

  • evidence-informed and scientifically accurate content
  • engagement and accessibility
  • alignment with national curricula
  • connection to clear and relevant pedagogy

and more!

Tackling Climate Change is a classroom-based engagement that informs young people about the UK’s commitment to reach net zero by 2050. It details the progress made towards this target, and future solutions to reduce carbon emissions. The resource spotlights the current and future jobs and careers available to young people to help tackle climate change.

Michael Hardisty, Head of Environment and Sustainability at EngineeringUK commented on the recent accreditation:

“We’re very pleased that our Tackling Climate Change resource is now ASE Evaluated following a review by and positive feedback from the Association for Science Education.

Tackling Climate Change is already a Verified Climate Education Resource, as certified by the Royal Meteorological Society, so we hope Climate Ambassadors and STEM Ambassadors will be encouraged to take it into classrooms and inspire more young people to pursue a green career in engineering and technology.”

The session is run as a mix of presentations, quizzes and interactive discussions and runs for either 40 minutes or 55 minutes. Tackling Climate Change is designed to be delivered in classrooms by Climate Ambassadors and STEM Ambassadors with a teacher in attendance.
