Students across the UK receive exam results
Today, thousands of students are opening envelopes to reveal their A level and T Level results. Just last week, Scottish students found out their grades in Nationals, Highers and Advanced Highers. And next week, the same will happen for GCSEs.
Check out some of the overall trends in STEM subjects:
- There was increased uptake in A level STEM subjects: maths (+4.4%), physics (+4.3%), and further maths (7.2%)
- The 4.3% growth in physics was driven by a 7.9% increase in entries from girls. There was also a 3.3% increase in female entries for D&T
- Despite the small overall decline in computing science, there was a 3.5% increase in entries from female students
- Uptake of engineering and technology T Levels have seen a significant jump of 56.2%, with a total of 5,643 young people now taking the qualification
- The number of girls taking T Levels in engineering and technology has also increased, rising from 9% to 12%
- The number of students accepted onto engineering and technology degrees has increased to 30,020, a 13% rise from the previous year
From the EUK Education team, congratulations! A huge well done to all the students receiving their results, and a big thank you to the teachers who helped them get there. Not sure about what comes next? Don’t worry – we’re here to help.
