Brand-new resource available for careers leaders

We’ve launched a brand-new careers resource to support Careers Leaders! The new guide helps you inspire students from all backgrounds to pursue careers in engineering and technology. 

Developed in collaboration with our Careers Working Group, the free resource highlights tips to make STEM careers accessible, meaningful, and exciting for young people. 

Learn how to break down barriers and avoid stereotypes, encouraging students from all backgrounds to see engineering and technology as an exciting career option. Get insights into how to create engaging STEM activities, connect students with industry professionals and showcase the diverse opportunities within STEM jobs. 

The Careers Working Group includes careers inspiration experts from a UK secondary school, STEM Learning, UCL Engineering, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Physics, BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Our careers team also worked closely with the Careers & Enterprise Company and incorporated feedback from real careers leaders in schools. 

The new guide empowers Careers Leaders with practical strategies grounded in the latest research. Use it to bring STEM careers to life for students. Get actionable top tips, further reading, and resources to enhance your careers provision in school. By aligning with the Gatsby Benchmarks (England) and the Careers Education Standard (Scotland), the guide ensures that career planning is both effective and comprehensive.
