The Big Bang offers 2 fantastic volunteering opportunities that connect young people with real-world STEM role models and experiences.

Volunteering is a powerful way to help young people see themselves in engineering and technology careers. It’s also a brilliant chance to develop your own skills and make a lasting impact.
Judge The Big Bang Competition (online)
Support young innovators by reviewing their project entries online. You’ll provide constructive feedback, celebrate creativity and problem-solving, and help students feel proud of their achievements. This is a simple, flexible way to inspire Competitors and share your STEM expertise without a big time commitment.

Volunteer at The Big Bang Fair (an in person opportunity)
Join us at the NEC, Birmingham, from 9 to 11 June 2026 for the UK’s biggest celebration of STEM. You’ll help welcome schools, support hands-on activities, and be a visible role model for thousands of young people. The Fair attracts more than 20,000 students. We need around 200 amazing volunteers to make it an unforgettable experience.
