Date published: 03 November 2025

Released for Green Careers Week

To celebrate #GreenCareersWeek, we've released a brand new Welcome pack for our Climate Schools Programme. It's the perfect introduction to the whole programme, with handy links to all the resources.

The Welcome pack details what the programme involves, all in one place. It explains which subjects are covered, and links to all the lesson plans, resources, activities, and information for young people. It also includes information about our Climate Action Clubs. And of course, as with the programme itself, it’s entirely free to download.

We want to make learning about climate change in school more hopeful. Highlighting what engineers, technicians and people working in digital jobs are doing to tackle it is part of our solutions-based approach.

The Climate Schools Programme covers 3 subjects: science, English and geography. Each includes lesson plans, practical activities, and assemblies. The programme is designed to be used across your whole school.

The programme gives young people the knowledge that careers combatting climate change could be theirs. In the UK we’re expected to need 750,000 new jobs in this area by 2030, so the opportunities are out there for them.

One science teacher who has run the science lessons told us, "Pupils have enjoyed the examples of workers that were on slides. They could see that they can access jobs they never dreamed of."

Another said: “I'd say the majority of kids, they were actually all like, ‘this makes sense, this is what we can do, and I could be an engineer, I could make this difference’."

And you can be sure of the educational quality of the programme too. We’re very proud that they are approved and accredited by:

One of the students who has taken part in the lessons told us, "The planet is in danger, but the lessons have made me feel more hopeful for the future of our planet."
